Played by Pina Carmirelli and I Musici. ClassicsForTheAges brings you another lost performance! I Musici was founded in 1952. It is said that Arturo Toscanini, upon hearing one of their rehearsals in April of the same year, declared I Musici to be the world's finest chamber orchestra. Pina Carmirelli, then, was without a doubt the finest of the finest; the attention to detail and musicianship she displays in this set has remained unequaled in the years since its recording. Another recording of the Four Seasons, featuring Felix Ayo, is available as a Philips Duo set, but it isn't nearly as good.
