June 1946: Stalin launches a vast propaganda campaign aimed at Russian emigrants living in the West, offering them an amnesty, a Soviet passport and the chance to participate in the post-war reconstruction of the USSR. Alexei Golovine, an emigrant living in France responds to this appeal along with many others. He decides to return to the mother country which he has missed so deeply, taking his young French wife, Marie, and his son Serioja, with him.
On arrival in Odessa, Stalin's welcome is not what they had expected. Many of their travelling companions are executed on the spot or sent to forced labor camps. Alexei and his family escape this fate and are sent to Kiev simply because the Soviet authorities realise that they have much to gain from this young doctor. He will be paraded as an example, a model "returnee". This is the price Alexei has to pay to save Marie and Serioja.

America America 1963.
Based on Elia Kazan's book America America. The director was born in Constantinoupolis in 1909. A master of the film medium and one of the all time best movie directors.
This is his most intensely personal film. The movie describes his odyssey on the road from Constantinoupolis to Ankara and eventually America.
Stathis Giallelis in a great performance, plays the director, as he attempts to escape Anatolia and arrive to America.

Germany Year Zero (Italian: Germania anno zero, German: Deutschland im Jahre Null) is a 1948 film directed by Roberto Rossellini. It is the final film in Rossellini's war film trilogy (the first two being Rome, Open City and Paisà).
Germany Year Zero takes place in post-war Germany, unlike the others, which take place in German-occupied Rome and post-war Italy, respectively. As in many neorealist films, Rossellini used mainly local, non-professional actors. He filmed on locations in Berlin and intended to convey the reality in Germany the year after its near total destruction in World War II. It contains dramatic images of bombed out Berlin and of the human struggle for survival following the destruction of the Third Reich. When explaining his ideas about realism in an interview, he said, "realism is nothing other than the artistic form of the truth" (Rossellini 35).
